Privacy Policy

At Hub Device, we respect your privacy and work hard to protect your personal information. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have. We've written this in plain language because legal documents shouldn't require a law degree to understand.

Who We Are

Hub Device operates from South Korea and provides budget planning education and resources. Our office is located at 9-1 Pangyoyeok-ro 2(i)beon-gil, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. When we say "we," "our," or "us," we're talking about Hub Device and our team.

We're subject to South Korean data protection laws, including the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). This matters because it gives you specific rights about how your information gets handled.

Information We Collect

Let's be direct about what information we gather when you use our website or services.

Information You Give Us Directly

When you sign up for our learning programs or contact us, you provide:

  • Your name and email address
  • Phone number if you choose to share it
  • Educational background and learning goals
  • Payment information for course enrollment
  • Messages you send through our contact forms

Information We Collect Automatically

Like most websites, we collect some technical data when you visit:

  • IP address and general location information
  • Browser type and operating system
  • Pages you visit and time spent on our site
  • Referring website if you clicked a link to reach us
  • Device information for mobile users

Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies to improve your experience. Some are essential for the site to work properly. Others help us understand how people use our resources so we can make them better. You can disable cookies in your browser, though some features might not work as smoothly.

How We Use Your Information

We're pretty straightforward about this. Your information helps us provide better educational services and support.

Purpose What This Means
Program Delivery Sending course materials, responding to questions, managing enrollments
Communication Updates about programs, schedule changes, educational resources
Improvement Analyzing how people learn to create better content
Legal Compliance Meeting South Korean regulations and maintaining records

We won't sell your information to third parties. That's not how we operate. Your email won't end up on random marketing lists because we shared it around.

Sharing Your Information

Sometimes we need to share limited information with other organizations. Here's when and why that happens:

Service Providers: We work with companies that help run our platform—things like email services, payment processors, and hosting providers. These partners only get the information they need to do their job, and they're contractually required to protect it.

Legal Requirements: If South Korean authorities or courts require us to share information through proper legal channels, we'll comply. We might also share data to prevent fraud or protect someone's safety.

We don't share data for marketing purposes or with anyone who doesn't have a legitimate business reason to access it.

Your Rights Under South Korean Law

South Korean data protection laws give you real control over your personal information. These aren't just theoretical rights—you can actually exercise them.

Access and Correction

You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. If something's wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it. This usually takes about 10 business days, though complex requests might need a bit more time.

Deletion

You can ask us to delete your personal information. We'll do this unless we have a legal reason to keep it—like financial records we're required to maintain for tax purposes. Even then, we'll delete it as soon as the legal retention period ends.

Processing Restrictions

You can ask us to stop processing your data for specific purposes. For example, if you don't want marketing emails anymore, we'll stop sending them while keeping your account information active.

Withdraw Consent

For activities where we asked your permission, you can change your mind anytime. This won't affect any processing that happened before you withdrew consent.

How to Exercise These Rights: Send an email to contact@hub-device.com with your request. We'll verify your identity and respond within the timeframes required by South Korean law.

Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. This includes encrypted connections, secure servers, and limited employee access to personal data.

That said, no online system is completely bulletproof. We do our best, but we can't guarantee absolute security. If we discover a data breach that affects your information, we'll notify you as required by South Korean law.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We don't keep information longer than necessary. Here's our general approach:

  • Active student records: Duration of your enrollment plus 3 years
  • Financial records: 5 years from the end of the fiscal year (required by South Korean tax law)
  • Marketing communications: Until you unsubscribe or 2 years of inactivity
  • Website analytics: 26 months maximum
  • Contact form inquiries: 1 year unless part of ongoing correspondence

After these periods, we either delete the data or anonymize it so it can't be traced back to you.

International Data Transfers

Our primary operations are in South Korea, but some of our service providers operate servers in other countries. When your data crosses borders, we ensure those providers meet adequate security standards.

If you're outside South Korea and use our services, your information will be transferred to and processed in South Korea according to this policy and South Korean law.

Children's Privacy

Our services target adults interested in financial education. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 14 years old. If you're a parent and discover your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We update this policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we'll notify active users by email and update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

Continuing to use our services after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
